6 Ideas for Viral Marketing

Here are six ideas to help you start your viral marketing campaign:

  1. Purchase the branding rights to a viral E-book. Allow people to give away your free E-book to their visitors. Then, their visitors will also give it away. This will just continue to spread your ad all over the Internet.

  2. If you have the ability to set up a forum or other bulletin board, you really have a great tool. Allow people to use your online discussion board for their own website. Some people don’t have one. Just include your banner ad at the top of the board.

  3. Do you have a knack for web design? Create some templates, graphics, etc. and upload them to your site. Then, allow people to give away your free web design graphics, fonts, templates, etc. Just include your ad on them or require people to link directly to your web site. Make sure that you include a link back to your site in the copyright notice and require them to keep your copyright notice in tact.

  4. Write an E-book. Allow people to place an advertisement in your free E-book if, in exchange, they give away the E-book to their web visitors or E-zine subscribers.

  5. Write articles that pertain to your product or service. Allow people to reprint your articles on their website, in their E-zine, newsletter, magazine or E-books. Include your resource box and the option for article reprints at the bottom of each article.

  6. You can easily find products on the Internet that will sell you a license allowing you to distribute the product free of charge to other people. Look for those products that provide “branding rights”. That is where you can include your own name, website, and contact information.

What an E-book Can Do for You

An E-book that includes your marketing message and a link to your website is a proven technique in viral marketing. This method uses the multiplication effect to “explode” the distribution of your message by willing participants.

Top Ten eBook Mistakes and How to Correct Them

Did you know that you already have an eBook inside you?
And, like your coach, you can earn thousands of dollars each month?

Even if you are a non-techie like me, you can write your ebook at the same time you write your print book. Or, solve your readers’ problems using other articles and reports already in your files. Expand a two-page article with a story or add other how-to’s.

If you want to double and triple your present book income, check out these mistakes and correct them now.

Mistake 1. You don’t write a short eBook first to test the waters.

Short is in the eyes of the beholder, but let’s say from 15-90 pages. Your future customers will be glad to download these pages and print only the ones they need to.

Your eBook needs to be more concise, easy-to-read, and compelling than your print book. That means you can shorten your analogies and stories. You can use a "success format" that poses a question (a heading) your reader wants answered, then answer it. This formula gets to the point quickly, and always remember, your Online audience is busy and doesn’t want a wordy style.

Mistake 2. You don’t check in with a professional editor or book coach before you sell your eBook.

Yes, it’s good to get feedback from peers, but you need to get a professional look at the final edition–someone who can set you straight about words and grammar that makes your writing vital and original. For instance, you need to drop your passive constructions such as "there is" or any form of "is, has, begin or start". Limit the -ly adverbs that merely tell rather than show. Your readers want a picture and want to respond with their emotions. Limit your -ing forms of the verbs. Keep your copy in present or past tense.

Mistake 3. You don’t know your audience before you write your eBook.

Emerging authors make this biggest mistake. They have information, so why not write an eBook? Instead think about the audience you will serve. More targeted works well. People who want something quick and easy that will save them time and money–another audience. The best one so far in the untapped Internet or Online audience. Mostly small business people, they are eager to buy what they need to make their life or business more enjoyable, profitable, and easy.

Right now, think of your one or two preferred audiences, and keep their profile of their needs, complaints, or problems as well as their picture by your workstation. Then you will write the book your pre-sold audience already wants!

Mistake 4. You don’t automate your business .

As a newbie or non-techie, at first you may resist learning how to do this. Three years ago I knew nothing about the net, and today I’ve published five eBooks on Internet marketing and eBook writing and publishing. You can too, little by little.

Since each book will not bring you landslides of profit, think about limiting your small priced books. Or, bundle them so that each sale is around $20 and up.

Offer your eBook for sale through an 800 number. One with excellent service is MRC business Support at 800-366-5596. Set up a link for people to download your book. Two companies to investigate are Clickbank.com and Paypal.com.

Delegate some of this work to your computer assistant. Contact your local high schools and technical schools where Online geniuses live. And, the cost is nominal in comparison to the results.

Mistake 5. You don’t have a title that sells well.

A good title is short, clear, and clever. The best title includes your book’s number one benefit. Use words your audience can relate to. Even cliches are OK for book titles. Instead of "How to Market Online" offer a title like a Web site headline:
"Quadruple your Monthly Book Income–Market Online."

Brainstorm a list of your possible titles with associates through a small marketing survey. Ask them to vote from 1-10 and offer their own title ideas that would make them reach into their wallets and pay $15-20 or more.

6. You don’t leverage your eBook for higher price sales.

When you look at the valuable information inside your eBook and you realize you only make $20 a sale, you may want to investigate putting it into an eCourse. These courses sell for $79 and up. With just a little revising and tweaking, you can set your book up to be a hands-on how to course.

You can bundle several lower cost eBooks and list their singular prices. Then offer a fabulous discount to buy all three or four.

Mistake 7. You don’t add bonus value to your eBook.

Whenever you put 2-4 bonus special reports at the end of your eBook document in Portable Document Format, you make your offer so appealing, that many will buy for the bonuses alone. For an eBook on How to Write your EBook or Other Book–Fast! an eBook that sells for $24.95, the author offered these three valuable bonuses as an incentive to buy. "Titles Sell Books" - value $4.95, 2. "Write Like a Pro Checklist." - value $3.95, and 3. "How to Get Testimonials from the Rich and Famous" - value $5.95 . That’s $15 of valuable reports added to $24.95–Total value: $40.00 value for only $24.95.

She put a new link on her Web site "Discounts of the Month." With a limited time offer, from her ePromotion bi-monthly offers, she got many new buyers. Everyone wants useful, original information. Everyone also wants a bargain.

Mistake 8. You put too many topics in your book.

Remember, best sellers focus on one main topic. Each chapter must support that subject. When you try to give too much, your information isn’t organized, short, and compelling. Instead of the end all, be all book, concentrate on one "how-to" and give plenty of details to make it useful to your reader.

9. You don’t market while you write.

Most writers wish someone else would do it for them. Not in this lifetime! It’s so much easier to put marketing into each chapter title, each chapter’s questions you will answer, rough draft of your eBook’s back cover (sales letter), the One-Minute "Tell and Sell," and knowing your targeted audience, thesis and table of contents before you write a single chapter. Knowing these essential "Seven Hot-Selling Points" before you finish your eBook will have you ready to promote the second you write your last word. .

10. You don’t brand yourself, your business, and your book.

Some people join an affiliate program or set up an affiliate program for others to sell their products and sell many products. As a marketing coach, what I want for you is to think of the overview "umbrella" you can house your products under. Think about your biggest benefit you offer through your service. Think about your book title. Can you put a key word from it into each chapter title? For the book, "Passion at Any Age," the author put the word passion in each chapter title such as "Passionate Self-Care". In one client’s book, "Watch Out! Your Relationships Can Be Hazardous To Your Health." the author included the key words "watch out!" in each chapter title.

The eBook earning curve while short, is important for all writers to conquer. It’s easier when you contact a professional coach or take a teleclass to inform yourself. Stop making eBook mistakes so you can earn the money you deserve.

Can Your eBook Idea Survive The ‘5W’ Acid Test?

Can Your eBook Idea Survive The ‘5W’ Acid Test?

If you’ve been cruising the Internet highway
for any length of time, you’ve run across tons
of ebooks. They’ve almost risen to mythical
proportions as "the" vehicle for producing
unlimited profits. Even with this flooding of
the market, the door’s still open IF you
develop an ebook that’s highly targeted,
serves a ‘want’ and delivers quality content.

So, you think you’ve fully analyzed your
idea? Think it’s a moneymaker? See how it
stacks up in the following ‘5W’ acid test,
to determine whether it’s ready to go or if
more development is needed.

Here we go:

WHO is your audience? Have you determined
whether there’s a demand? Does it address
a problem or want currently being discussed
in discussion forums - is there a trend you can
cash in on? Check it out now, to make sure
your market exists - don’t make the mistake
of falling in love with an unprofitable topic!

For forums discussing Internet marketing:

For Internet marketing plus other markets:

WHAT is your markup going to be? 200%?
More? What pricing will your market support?
Are you pricing it too low/high? For help in this
area, an affordable resource is Ken Evoy’s
‘Make My Price Sell!’ manual. Click here for
more information:
http://myps.sitesell.com/idealmarketingcorp.html

WHEN are you planning on launching? Is it a
seasonal topic that should be launched at a
specific time of year, or is it evergreen?
Timing a launch correctly could be critical to
your success.

WHERE will you promote it? On Pay-Per-Click
search engines (go to
http://www.pay-per-click-search-engines.com
for a complete listing)? With ezine sponsor or
solo ads? By writing ezine articles (if you
need help on where or how to submit your
articles go to eZine Announcer at

Is your killer sales letter ready? If you’re
not secure in this area, I (and others) strongly
recommend Marlon Sander’s products. His site:

WHY should a prospect invest in your ebook
instead of your competitors? What’s your USP
(unique selling proposition)? What does your
information or approach offer that others
don’t?

A few other things to keep in mind in order to
ensure a profitable ebook:

*Select good ebook production software. Make
sure it produces ebooks that can be read by
BOTH Macintosh and IBM systems. Consider
Adobe, since the resulting pdf ebooks can be
read interchangeably. You can sign up for a free
trial and make a few free ebooks at
https://createpdf.adobe.com/index.pl/ Just
recognize that not everyone owns IBM; don’t
leave money on the table by producing, for
example, only ".exe" ebooks.

* Does your ebook have a strong cover graphic?
Visual packaging is critical online. Do it
Yourself with eCover Generator (go to http://www.ecovergenerator.com/x.cgi?adminid=814&id=24866)
or have Vaughan Davidson (the person behind
many of the Internet’s high-quality ebook
graphics) do it for you. His site:
http://www.killercovers.com

The demand for ebooks and information is still
going strong, regardless of whether your target
market is cooking, fishing, real estate, wood
carving, insurance or something else. Just make
sure your ebook idea survives our ‘5W’ acid test,
and that it solves a problem and/or fulfills a
‘want.’ If you do, the profits will follow.

Can You Find Success with a Self-Published eBook?

Introduction

As a full-time freelance writer, I spend a
lot of time trying new publishing ideas and learning how to
market my services. Most of my work is web-centered, so I love the
challenge of innovation in content creation. I also love the fact
that when you’re a writer on the web, you are more in control of your
marketing efforts than you will ever be offline.

When I made the decision to write an
eBook, it really didn’t occur to me to NOT self-publish. I already had a
website and a newsletter, I’ve taught classes online, and I am
completely comfortable with the online environment. I also was
naive enough to look at a self-published eBook as a
less-than-daunting task.

I self-published for the reason most
people do; I can retain full control over the production, marketing,
and distribution of my eBook. I can make updates and changes without a
publisher’s permission. I can also keep control of the costs of
promotion and marketing.

What I’ve Learned as a Self-Published
eBook Author

1. Networking is essential. There are a
lot of people, in the same boat, willing to help you in your journey.

2. Self-promotion can take a lot of time
and effort — but the satisfaction of a polished, professional
product and the prospect of profit (rather than a percentage of
royalties) can be worth it.

3. You’re never done! The web is an
infinite space — if you sell your own book, you will never
be "finished", there is always work to do! New eBook
websites and distribution centers launch every day. New websites
accept eBook submissions for review every day.

4. Ebooks are still a relatively new
medium — which, of course, leaves many people skeptical. They have a
lot
of unrecognized potential, and, for the
most part, have been quite underrated. I believe that this is
partially attributed to the fact that there are
literally thousands of people out there that buy "resale
packages" of "reports" that have been converted to Adobe Acrobat
format. These "reports" are usually short, poorly written, and
out-of-date — the exact opposite of what an eBook should
aspire to. These "eBooks" are not written by the people who
market them (A few I have seen don’t even carry a byline) and
tend to be promoted heavily by MLM and "Get Rich
Quick" people.

5. That being said - ebooks are more
difficult to sell — it’s difficult to establish credibility as
a self-published eBook writer. You’ll have to have
tremendous faith — and gusto — in your writing and your finished
product. I’ve had several people discuss my eBook on writing lists with the
primary question: "Is it worth the money?" (And this is at a
promotional price of four dollars and after several
‘gloat-worthy" reviews! I’ve never seen anybody walk into
Starbucks and ask the coffee makers if their Grande Mocha Latte
was worth the money — oh, well!) Be prepared for
skepticism and craft your responses carefully.

6. There’s hope in the future! Ebooks are
just getting started. Ebook writers have the ability to adapt
their content to their audience and create an
interactive element. Hyperlinks help with quick
navigation to important resources on the web. I believe, in the
future, eBooks will gravitate to become the truly interactive
medium they are — content that allows audience to explore
the topic as superficially or as deep as they want.
Imagine if you publish a fantasy novel and have
hyperlinks to the maps of the world you created just a click
away? Or, like thousands of DVD’s, what if you create
links to a website that has a "behind the scenes" look into the
writing process? Or what about scenes you loved but didn’t
fit into the eBook’s plot? Why not show the reader what
you edited out?

7. Success is possible, with time, MJ
Rose’s eBook, Lip Service, garnered many great reviews,
sales, and future print publishing contracts. In MJ’s latest
eBook, Buzz Your Book, she mentions that Angela Hoy, makes
several thousand dollars with her eBooks on a monthly
basis. These success stories took time (months and years) to
create — but now these women have become "eBook legends."
It turns out that self-published eBooks can pay off! (You
can find out more about MJ Rose at http://www.mjrose.com/
and Angela Hoy at http://www.writersweekly.com)

If You’re Considering Jumping On the Bandwagon

The internet has changes the way
self-publishers market. There are websites, email discussion
lists, and communities dedicated to help the independent writer
get into print. Where once self-publishers missed out
on the support of an editor or publishing
house, they now have the opportunity to participate in a quickly
growing community.

Is self-publishing an eBook right for you?
Here are a few questions to help you decide:

1. Do you have an idea — or manuscript –
for a good book?
2. Do you ENJOY networking with writers
and publishers on the web?
3. Are you INTERESTED in learning new ways
to promote yourself?
4. Do you have the time and resources to
DIY? (do it yourself?)
5. Are you prepared to learn a lot of
information and apply it on a daily basis?

If the answers to these questions are
"yes" or "maybe", there are also resources online you’ll
want to check out before you begin your project. Here
are a few to get you started:

How To Create A Money Making eBook In 6 Simple Steps

The ebook market is in a craze right now and I?m sure that
you want to get in on it, but the problem is that the market
is flooded with ideas on how to do it right. In fact there
are so many opinions on how to make money with selling ebooks
that you might feel a little lost. I know that with my own
experience I would follow one path of advice for a little
while only to find a dead end. Uhgg! Talk about frustration!
So what I decided to do is to outline in just 6 simple steps
how you can create a money-making ebook that really works.

Step 1: Choose Your Subject

Before you do anything you need to find a subject to write
about. In order for your ebook to be popular it needs to be a
subject that people are truly interested in. To find a good
subject requires some research on your part. Amazon.com is a
good place to start. At Amazon you can find which books are
the best sellers, which will tell you what subjects people
are dying to read about. Also you could try Wordtracker
(www.webcashlink.com/wordtracker.html). At Wordtracker you
can find out what the most popular terms or phrases that
people are searching for on the internet. Once you know your
subject then you?ll have a foundation to work with and once
you have researched your subject then writing the actual
ebook will come naturally.

Step 2: Make It Look Professional

I?m sure that you have heard the saying that image is
everything. Well that is definitely true with selling ebooks.
People like imagery that uses all their senses (Being able to
see it, touch it, and etc?). Unfortunately when a person
views your ebook they can only use one sense, the sense of
sight. To overcome that obstacle, you need to make your ebook
as real as possible to them. It will help tremendously if you
have a professional graphic image of an ebook cover. People
relate to pictures and studies indicate that by just having a
picture of your ebook can increase sales by 300%! In order to
appear professional you need to make sure that your ebook
cover looks attractive. Try to avoid the pitfall of using
generic, free ebook covers. It will make you look cheap and
could impact sales negatively. The service that I use is
Dynamite Covers (www.webcashlink.com/dynamitecovers). They
create professional looking ebook covers at reasonable prices.

Step 3: Give It Away For Free

I know that you are probably scratching your head right
about now because you?re thinking, ?How can I make money by
giving it away for free?? But the truth is, that in order to
have an ebook that sells well, you first need exposure and
name recognition on the internet. Once you have that then
people will have confidence that you really know what you?re
talking about. The best way to accomplish this is to make an
ebook with useful content that you can give away for free. Of
course you don?t want to give away all your secrets so make
sure that you have tantalizing tidbits that will make people
just curious enough to visit your web site and purchase your
product.

Step 4: Make It Viral

This is a very important step. There seems to be a myth that
if you make an ebook to give away then other people will just
go crazy and start giving it to every single person they
know. But that is not the case. You need to give people an
incentive to give your ebook away to their friends or email
list. The best way to create an incentive is to make your
ebook brandable, you need to make your ebook in such a way
that other people can include their links in it (link to
their web site or have it set up to include their affiliate
links). As a side note, I use eBook Paper
(www.webcashlink.com/ebookpaper) to accomplish this. Once you
make it brandable, people will be dying to give it away
because they will be benefiting too and guess what you have
just done? With just one step, you have created a viral
marketing machine for your web site! Congratulations!

Step 5: Use Your eBook To Build Your Email List

As I am sure you already know having a large opt-in email
list is a key to online success. So when you create your
ebook always include your subscription box or web form. This
is especially important if you followed step 4 and made your
ebook viral. Once you do this you will see a substantial
increase to your email list, which is vital to establishing
an online income.

Step 6: Start Marketing Your eBook

There are several ways to market your ebook and I am sure
you can find entire novels on this subject, but for now I am
just going to touch on a couple of very important methods.
First of all start contacting webmasters that already have a
big email list of their own. Tell them about your ebook and
either offer them the opportunity to join your affiliate
program or give them your free viral ebook. In either case,
once you do that they will start to recommend your ebook to
their own email list, which might be several thousand
subscribers. Another way is to search for ebook directories
or ebook stores, and start submitting your ebook to them.

Once you have completed these 6 simple steps you will be
well on your way to making an online income by selling ebooks.

Your E-book is your Viral Salesman

E-books are the future and the future is now. The printed word on paper and bound into books used to be the only way information was given and received. They were great, you could take them with you and put them on shelves and they do still exist and will continue to for the foreseeable future but the time of the E-book has arrived.

The marketing E-book is a slightly different animal from just an E-book. Marketing E-books contain text, images, links to web pages and navigation controls. The marketing E-book has become a very important part of marketing on the Internet.

With a marketing E-book you can present your story in an effective way and include links to your web sales pages. Your E-book can become your best salesman.

First, your E-book needs to be interesting and informative. It always has links back to your web site and to your sales page.

Next, be sure that you have a prominent section telling readers that they are free to give your E-book away. Let them know that they can post it on their site as a free download, that they can use it as a bonus, and that they can bundle it with other products. This is the way to create viral marketing for your products or services. Remember those links back to your site contained in the E-book?

Last but certainly not least before you send your E-book out to the world, double check spelling and grammar and be sure that you have tested every link to verify that it goes where it is supposed to go. Obvious errors will reflect badly on you and will not be of much value to you, it could even by damaging.

Post your E-book to some of the E-book directories. Many let you post it for free, or will let you post a link on their site to your E-book.

How To Write and Publish Your Own eBook in 7 Days

I was intrigued by the title of this book - writing an eBook in 7 days? But that’s exactly what Jim Edwards and Joe Vitale show you how to do.

However, your eBook doesn’t have to be 100 pages. In fact, Joe Vitale’s best selling eBook ‘Turbo Charge Your Writing’ is only 22 pages (and 2 of those pages are order forms). And the authors give the example of someone who wrote a book just 7 pages long that sells for between $30 and $50. The fact is that people are swamped with information. So the shorter your book, the better.

Vitale and Edwards both have impressive track records in online publishing. Joe Vitale (also known as ‘Mr. Fire’) is something of a legend in the world of marketing. He has written over 12 successful books and has helped more than 200 authors to write, publish and promote their books.

Jim Edwards writes a syndicated newspaper column called ‘NetReporter.com’ and is a frequent guest speaker at national conferences on topics such as search engine traffic generation and ’shoestring’ online marketing. He’s also the author of ‘33 Days To Online Profits’ and ‘The Lazy Man’s Guide To Online Business’.

If you’re like many aspiring authors, you may have the urge to write your book first and then find out if there’s a market for it. But as Edwards and Vitale point out, that’s a formula for eBook failure.

In chapter 2 (’Setting Yourself Up for Success’) the authors show you how to identify your niche market, how to analyze their wants, needs and problems, and how to write a book that satisfies those wants, needs and problems.

Don’t skip this chapter - it provides very detailed techniques for using keyword research to find out exactly who your target audience is and where you will find them on the Internet.

The authors’ program for writing your eBook in seven days contains some useful techniques for getting your creative juices flowing and getting your words down on paper - writing your material as a letter to a friend, and writing your sales copy first.

The chapter on ‘Formatting Your eBook Text’ contains some valuable tips, such as breaking up your text with bullets and headers. Your readers will thank you for it - one of the keys to avoiding credit card charge backs is to make it easy for your readers to absorb your information.

Chapter 10 (’How To Make Money with your eBook’) gives you some tried and tested formulas for turning your eBook into profits, such as selling the reprint rights and ‘back loading’ your eBook with your own affiliate links, joint ventures and affiliate programs.

The book also contains interviews with eight successful eBook authors, including Yanik Silver, Rick Beneteau, and Jay Conrad Levinson.

The interview with Yanik Silver is worth reading very carefully. He reveals how he made tens of thousands of dollars by setting up 3 separate profit streams in the same eBook: reprint rights, his own affiliate links and customization fees.

If you want to create your own information product, this book is definitely worth reading - you’ll find out that it’s easier than you think. You can get your copy of ‘How To Write and Publish Your Own eBook in as little as 7 Days’ at:

Write your eBook Fast–First Steps to Finishing Line

Why write an eBook?

You want ongoing, lifelong multiple streams of income. You
want to raise your credibility and trust ratings with clients or
customers. You want to get your message out so the world can
be a better place.

You want to spend only a little time on it. (Would you be willing
to spend 4 hours a week?) You want to get it out fast (Would
4-8 weeks be OK?) You want to market for a low-cost
investment. And, for some of you, you are ready to be innovative
and even take a small risk to get your eBook read by hundreds
of thousands, rather than hundreds!

Where are you now?

You have an idea for your eBook; you have a lot of ideas!
Take a moment and decide which one you are most passionate
about now and will be for the next year or two. Focus on one
great idea, where you know what the audience needs or wants–
your solutions to their problem.

Or, do you have your eBook well on its way, but aren’t finished.
You need advice on how to get it done, what’s needed to publish
(not much!), and how to distribute it to pull continuous monthly
sales that can be 1/3 to 1/2 your income?

Who Should Write an eBook?

-If you want to share your unique message world-wide to
help people create a better life.

- If you are ready to invest a little to reap a great deal.

- If you are a business person who want to expand your
business and be a leader in your field.

-If you are willing to move much faster than traditional
publishing to sell faster, more, and create more cash
flow for marketing.

What do I Need to Know Before I write this eBook?

1. To help make your eBook successful apply the
essential "Seven Hot-Selling Points." These include
title, table of contents, thesis, "60 second tell and sell,"
one preferred audience, introduction and the back cover.

Why? Every part of your book can be a sales tool. When you
include the above "hot-selling points" you will have a roadmap
to guide you to writing a focused, organized, compelling book
that you will only have to edit a few times.

2. You also need to know how to write a focused, organized,
chapter each time. Think format. Each chapter should have
approximately the same number of pages if it is a self-help book.
Each book chapter may need an introduction, an opening few
questions or shocking facts to hook the reader to keep reading,
a few stories or analogies to illustrate your how-to’s, and an
ending that may be a summary, questions to ponder, or action
steps to take.

Designing every chapter and knowing your essential "hot-selling
points" are your eBook’s 24/7 sales team and a beacon that
brings out your best: writing a compelling, easy to read, inspiring
and informational eBook that hundreds of thousands of buyers
will want.

E-books and Affiliate Programs

Some E-books combine very well with an affiliate program. When the affiliate receives some extra benefit from promoting the viral message, like being able to brand your E-book with his affiliate links, the affiliate makes a sale when a reader buys through a branded link. You benefit from increased traffic on your website because the affiliate is willing to promote the E-books for you.

Be absolutely certain that your message includes a clear call to action. There shouldn’t be any doubt whatsoever about what you intend recipients to do. Make sure that the instructions are perfectly clear so that recipients know HOW to act. The action that you require should be simple and obvious as well. Don’t make things complicated or it will confuse the reader, such as by adding numerous links.

Remember the K.I.S.S. principle Keep It Simple Stupid! The incentive should be clear to those you want to take an action. Readers will look at your offering for about seven seconds before they move on. If it takes longer than that for them to figure out what it is you want them to do, they will move on. Don’t make your message vague or difficult to comprehend. If you do, chances are you will lose them. You must respect your readers enough to express your message clearly.

Once you are sure you have an E-book that will be of value to an affiliate program, approach them with your idea and be able to show that it will be mutually beneficial.

Viral Marketing using E-books is one of many techniques that all together have a cumulative effect in attracting customers and subscribers to your business and in attracting targeted visitors to your website. You will very soon find out that this is an excellent way of increasing sales, subscribers and referrals.

Designing Your Ebook Sales Page

Writing and designing a great ebook is an essential part of
your success. However, it is only a small part of your overall
strategy. In order to be successful, you must develop and
implement a strategic plan that includes all of the following:

- A great ebook
- A web site specifically designed to sell
- Persuasive ad copy written with passion, excitement and
benefit
- An easy ordering process
- A powerful marketing strategy

Each step will play a very important role in your overall
success. You must plan each step very carefully and develop
your strategy to its fullest potential. If even one step fails,
your sales will suffer.

Designing Your Sales Page

When you’re ready to design your sales page, keep in mind,
the most important part of your page is your sales copy.
Fancy web sites and graphics don’t make sales…words do.

Your sales page should have one specific purpose — getting
your potential customer to take action. It should be simple in
design and focus on one specific product.

Design your page in standard HTML and avoid using Flash or
anything that requires fancy plug-ins. You want your page to
load as quickly as possible and draw your visitor’s attention
to your text.

Another consideration of great importance is the Search
Engines. You must specifically design your page to rank
high in the Search Engines. Including good META tags is a
step in the right direction. However, META tags are only a
small part of preparing a page for the Search Engines. Your
page design, title, text, link text and image alt tags all play
a very important role in determining how your page will rank.

Writing Effective Sales Copy

Your words are the most important part of your entire
marketing strategy. Every word, sentence and headline
should have one specific purpose — to lead your potential
customer to your order page. Pack your copy with all of the
benefits your ebook has to offer. Tell your potential customer
exactly what your ebook will do for them. Identify a specific
problem and promote your ebook as the solution. Write to
persuade — that’s the bottom line.

Your sales letter should begin with a powerful headline that
DEMANDS ATTENTION. This headline might be in the form of
a question that identifies a problem, or it may be in the form
of an intriguing statement. Your headline is the most
important part of your entire sales copy. If it doesn’t
immediately grab your visitor’s attention, they most likely
won’t read any further. Developing a great headline should
take more time than writing your entire sales letter. It’s
that important.

Display your headline in a large, bold font that demands
your potential customer’s attention and intrigues them to
read on.

In order to keep their attention, use subheadings (headlines)
throughout your sales letter. Subheadings should provide
highlights of each section and capture the attention of those
who just scan your text. Display your subheading in a large,
bold font.

When you begin writing your sales copy, write as if you were
talking with just one person. Write your copy with passion
and excitement and tell that one person exactly what your
ebook will do for them. Write your words so that they
seamlessly flow together from your beginning headline through
to your order page.

Testimonials

In addition to using a killer headline and sales copy, you must
also include some powerful testimonials. Make sure you don’t
create a separate page for your testimonials, as they most
likely won’t be read. Place your testimonials throughout your
sales letter to ensure their visibility.

Free Bonuses

Another powerful tactic used to increase sales is to include
free bonuses with the purchase of your ebook. Many times,
you’ll find that a customer will purchase your product just
for the bonuses.

If you’re in need of some great bonuses you can offer with
your ebook, visit the following web address:
http://www.ebookstarter.com/freetosell/

Guarantee

Completely remove your potential customer’s risk by including
a money back guarantee. If they’re not completely satisfied
with your product, for any reason, you’ll refund their money.
Internet users are apprehensive when it comes to making
purchases on the Internet. You must put their mind at ease
by building their confidence in you and your products.

PostScript

The final part of your sales letter should include a PostScript.
When your visitor scans your sales message, chances are,
they’ll read your headline, subheadings and your PostScript
message. Place your most important benefits within your P.S.
message. It will get read.

Take your time and develop your sales page to its fullest
potential. It is an essential part of your success. You may
have a great ebook, however, if your sales copy is poor,
your sales will be minimal. A great sales page sells.

An eBook Publisher’s Dilemma: Should I Use PDF or Exe Format

An eBook Publisher’s Dilemma: Should I Use PDF or Exe Format?
by Michael Southon

If you write and publish eBooks, sooner or later you
will probably be faced with a dilemma - should you
create your eBooks as .exe files or .pdf files?

PDF, which stands for Portable Document Format, is the
file extension for files created with Adobe Acrobat.

Exe, which stands for ‘executable’, is the extension
for files created by eBook compilers.

PDF is widely considered to be the ‘industry standard’
for eBook publishing, and for good reason. Here are
some of the advantages of PDF files over exe files:

(1) With most eBook compilers you have to set up each
page of your eBook as a separate web page. With Adobe
Acrobat you can use a single MS Word file as the
source document.

(2) PDF files automatically number each page - exe
files don’t.

(3) PDF files are very easy to edit - you can insert
pages, replace pages and delete pages (and the page
numbering is automatically adjusted).

(4) Printing from a PDF file is much easier than
printing from an .exe file.

(5) The ‘bookmark’ column on the left side of a PDF
file makes naviagtion very easy - much easier than in
an exe file.

(6) PDF files compress better than exe files, so you
end up with a smaller, more manageable file.

(7) It’s virtually impossible to transmit a virus
through a PDF file - exe files are susceptible to
virus transmission and can become corrupted during
download.

(8) Finally, by using PDF you automatically expand
your potential market because PDF files can be read on
both a PC and a Mac (exe files can only be read on a
PC). Over 8 percent of the online population in the
U.S. are currently Mac users
(www.nielsen-netratings.com) - not a huge increase in
your market, but nevertheless significant.

But exe files do have some advantages over PDF files,
and perhaps the most important of these is price -
most eBook compilers are a fraction of the cost of
Adobe Acrobat.

Another advantage of exe files over PDF is the
rebranding feature. The following eBook compilers all
have a built-in rebranding function:

http://www.ebookcompiler.com/
http://www.ebookgenerator.com/
http://www.ebookedit.com/
http://www.ebookpaper.com/

If you use free eBooks as a viral marketing tool,
rebranding is the key to success, because people are
much more likely to promote your free eBook if they
can customize it with their own affiliate links.

An Easy Way to Make Money With EBooks

If you’ve been around the web for any time at all - especially looking for information about how to get your own online business started - you’ve probably heard one thing metioned time and time again: Make and sell your own products.

It’s an undeniable fact. Selling your own product is the fastest, and sometimes easiest, way to make money online. And one of the easiest types of products to sell is information.

Information is a hot commodity. People love to learn new things - or learn more about their favorite topics. By creating useful, helpful, or entertaining information on almost any topic - you can literally make a fortune. And yes you can start raking in money from the minute your product is released for sale.

Now the entire process doesn’t happen overnight, and no it’s not magic. There is a formula. Or "system" if you will. And there’s hard work too.

Whether you want to create a tutorial, informative email course, special report, or full length book: You need to invest either time or money to get that product created. You can’t make money from it until you’re able to sell it, and in order to sell it - you have to create it.

And creation takes time. Even if you have the money to pay someone else to write for you, they’ll still need time to do it well. If you choose to write the EBook yourself, you’ll need time too. Even if you know the topic inside and out, it takes time to "get it all down on paper". Then of course you have to organize it, format it, edit, figure out publishing and delivery options, etc.

Now a tried and true method of getting a business started fast is to invest in ready-made products. People do this every day with EBay and dropshipping. The basic concept is simple: You buy products at reduced, or "wholesale" rates, and resell them to customers at standard retail mark up rates. You keep the difference in what the product sells for, and what you paid for it.

Many people don’t realize you can do the same thing with EBooks. Buy ones that are already written and packaged nicely - at wholesale prices - then sell them to the public. Now it’s important to understand you can’t do this with just any EBook you come across. It’s illegal. You must have a license to sell someone else’s EBook, and you must have connections to get them at "wholesale" prices.

You can find many such EBooks easily online though. Often they’re promoted as having "resell rights". This usually means that once you’ve bought the book at regular prices, you also got a license to sell that book to others at full price too. The main downside to this of course, is that you have to pay separately for each EBook you want to resell, and the prices can vary widely. Some EBook resell rights can be bought for just $30 or so, while others cost $150. I’ve even seen some that require several thousand dollars to get resell rights to.

There are a few services available online that allow you to pay one monthly fee though, and they’ll give you resell rights to many books at once. The best one I’ve found actually publishes two new EBooks every single month. They’re great quality, priced well, and come with a pre-written sales letter. You can even add your affiliate links to the EBooks, and this gives you the potential to earn more money from other sources within the Books themselves.

Another reason I like this particular Book Club the best though, is because they don’t give you all business and marketing books. You get books that you can sell to real people, on a variety of topics. Books about diabetes, travel, and blogging for instance, are just a few examples of the wide variety of topics they provide. This makes it much easier to start selling the books immediately, because you’re not trying to enter heavily saturated, fiercely competitive markets. Get more information on this EBook service here:
http://www.ElectronicPerceptions.com/EBooks/income/

So the easiest, fastest way to make money online is by selling information products that are already written. You simply pay a small fee, set up your sales mechanisms, then advertise. That’s it. You can actually start getting sales - receiving real money - within minutes of getting set up.

3 Steps to Find “Freebies” to Add to Your E-book

Those of us who regularly shop on line are familiar with the array of free gifts, free bonuses and just plain freebies that are offered to a visitor to a website to encourage them to buy. How could you collect, select and offer free gifts, which will be valued as much as the original merchandise that is being purchased, put these gifts together and add them to your E-book? There are just three steps to do that very thing. They are:

1. Identify your key words in each chapter of your E-book. Now, type those words into your favorite search engine. You are looking for free E-books on the same subject in more depth, by a greater expert than you are, or by someone who gives a new and fresh angle to the topic. Add a link to the free E-book in each chapter of your E-book.

2. Research the Internet for related free gifts. Now you are looking for things that you could give as free gifts in your E-book that will make it more appealing and give it more pass-along appeal to your readers. For example: If you are selling gardening supplies, find a planting guide on the web that can be downloaded and include that as a gift in your E-book.

3. Download the freebies. Visit the freebies pages on those web sites. Most sites have freebies and encourage you to distribute them.

Other key words I searched for are freebies, free E-books, and free reports and then gave the key word that I wanted the free stuff for. Like… “freebies for gardeners”.

Give your reader the vest that you can offer. Give them your book, additional reading material and free gifts to boot. Everybody loves a bargain!

Accepting Ebook Payment

Once you’ve completed your ebook and have taken the
necessary steps to protect your work, your next step will
be to set up an online payment system.

Don’t let this process intimidate you, as it is much easier
than you may think. There are many professional companies
on the Internet that will assist you. If you’d like to get your
own merchant account, you can do so right online. If you’d
rather not have your own merchant account, there are
companies online that will process your orders for you.

Merchant Accounts

If you decide to get your own merchant account, you will
also need access to a secure server and a shopping cart
system. A secure server will protect your customers
information. A shopping cart system will provide your
customer with a running total of what they have ordered
and the total cost.

The following websites can provide you with a merchant
account:

Total Merchant Services (TMS)
http://www.web-source.net/cgi-bin/web/jump.cgi?ID=2332

This outstanding company comes highly recommended by
Corey Rudl — author of the #1 selling online marketing course,
"Insider Secrets to Marketing Your Business on the Internet."

The TMS Merchant account, for Internet transactions, will
enable you to accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express
and Discover. They offer two merchant processing software
packages to choose from. The first package is the TotalPay
powered by Authorize.Net? Virtual Terminal. This package
will enable you to authorize, process, and manage credit card
transactions from any computer with an Internet connection
and a Web browser. This package ordinarily runs $995, but for
a limited time is being offered for only $397. The second
package is the TotalPay powered by Authorize.Net? Virtual
Terminal that includes the Total Merchant Manager Shopping
Cart. This package includes everything the first package
includes, plus all of the following:

- Customizable Shopping Cart System
- UPS Shipping Module
- Links to Virtual Terminal
- Free Initial Installation

Their discount rate is 2.4% and $0.35 per transaction fee.
Monthly fees include a $10 monthly statement fee and a $10
gateway fee that includes secure, online, real-time credit
card and e-cheque processing and only applies to merchants
processing transactions through their Internet payment
gateway.

NRWW Commerce
http://nrww.com/merchant_account.shtml

This powerful Internet-based software provides secure,
real-time transaction credit card processing. The Virtual
Terminal feature enables merchants to authorize, process,
and manage credit card transactions from any computer
with an Internet connection and a Web browser. This
software package runs $179.95.

Their discount rate is 2.25% and $0.30 per transaction fee.
Monthly fees include a $5 monthly statement fee and a $15
secure gateway fee.

Third Party Credit Card Processors

If you’d rather not have your own merchant account, third
party credit card processors will process your credit card
orders for you. There are usually no monthly fees. They
charge a "per transaction" fee and send you payment for all
of your orders processed, minus their fee and a reserve fee.
A reserve fee is withheld to cover and charge backs you
may have. If you have no charge backs within a period of
time, your reserve will be refunded to you. Each company
has their own guidelines in regard to reserves.

The following websites will process credit card orders for you:

CCNow
http://www.ccnow.com

This outstanding company will enable you to accept all major
credit cards online without a merchant account. There are no
set up or monthly fees of any kind. They charge a 9% per
transaction fee. In addition, their services are available for
non-US merchants.

CCNow is intended to be used for tangible merchandise only.
This means that you must have a physical product that is
shipped to the customer’s physical address. If your product
is electronic, you may want to consider using one of the
following companies to process your orders.

ClickBank
http://www.web-source.net/cgi-bin/web/jump.cgi?ID=196

ClickBank is another outstanding company that will enable you
to accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover,
Eurocard, Visa-Debit, MasterCard-Debit and Novus cards.
No merchant account is required.

They charge a one-time $49.95 activation fee, and a $1 + 7.5%
fee per sale. There are no monthly fees. The great thing about
this company is that over 60,000 affiliates can choose to sell
your products for you. ClickBank enables any web seller to
automatically pay sales commissions to affiliates. They will bill
your customers, pay you, and pay your affiliates a commission.
In other words, they’ll run your entire affiliate program for you.
In addition, their services are available for non-US merchants.

ClickBank is intended to be used for electronic merchandise
only. If you ship a physical product, you may want to consider
using CCNow to process your orders.

iBill
http://www.ibill.com

iBill will enable you to accept Visa, Mastercard, American
Express, JCB, online checks or telephone billing (900 number).
There are no setup fees. However, you must maintain a
minimum sales volume of $25 per month or the difference will
be charged to your credit card. They charge 12% - 15% per
transaction fee for credit card and check purchases and 20% -
30% per transaction fee for phone purchases. Non-US
merchants are welcome.

If you’re just starting out, you may want to use one of the
third party credit card processors, as this is the easiest route.
Each company provides you with step by step instructions to
assist you in getting your web site set up to accept credit
cards. The great thing about third party credit card
processors is that they handle everything for you. You don’t
have to hassle with processing your credit card payments or
charge backs, as all of this is taken care of for you.

In order to successfully sell your ebooks on the Internet, you
must accept credit cards. In addition, you must make the
ordering process as simple as possible. With today’s
technology, even the smallest home-based business can now
accept credit credits almost instantly. Visit one of the
web sites mentioned above and get your web site set up today.
Your success depends on it.
